AWD - Warung Mak BengThis modest warung is listed as highly recommended in eatery guides and has served Sanur’s ravenous fishermen since 1941. The founder, Ketut Tjuki (usually called Mak -mom in English- Beng) claims to have patented the recipe of her famous snapper soup, grilled fish, and fish satay since 2005. The herbs and spices used vary from most Balinese seafood recipes, and the soup is clear yet rich and tasteful, a surreal possibility. Even though it opens from 09:00 to 17:00, it s always busy, and it’s almost impossible to get one of her soups after 14:00.
